Atlantic Technological University

The Atlantic Technological University (ATU) is a University located in the north and west of Ireland with over 20,000 students from across Ireland and worldwide and 2,250 staff across 9 campuses.

Over 600 study programs from apprenticeships to PhD level are offered. The ATU has an expanding research and innovation function (€15 million per annum) and a commitment to forging collaborative alliances with enterprise and communities in the region and Europe. The development of ATU’s Higher Certificate in Wind Energy Technology was the launch pad for our involvement in wind energy and the broader renewable energy sector. We have also been a partner in the Bryden Centre, a €10 million Interreg V funded cross border renewable energy centre, SMART renew an NPA €1.6m renewable energy solutions in housing project and VETWIND11 which laid the foundation for the T-shore. We are also home to the National Cluster for the Blue Economy.
