Established in 2004, the National Maritime College of Ireland (NMCI) is Ireland’s first Public-Private Partnership between Munster Technological University, the Irish Naval Service and Focus Education.

The NMCI is at the forefront of maritime training, providing specialised courses tailored to meet the evolving needs of the maritime industry. Situated on a 10-acre waterfront campus, NMCI offers cutting-edge facilities, including an environmental pool, marine bridge simulation suite and engineering workshops. Recently celebrating its 20th anniversary, NMCI has trained over 80,000 professionals, demonstrating its commitment to excellence in maritime education. As Ireland accelerates towards harnessing renewable energy, particularly through offshore wind, NMCI is poised to play a critical role in developing a highly skilled maritime workforce to support this expanding industry.
